Keeping up to date with changes to legislation affecting letting agents in Scotland
In partnership with
The last few years have been incredibly busy for letting agents. Letting agent registration has had a huge impact in terms of both time and cost. In addition, tenancies and the grounds for eviction have changed and the First-tier Tribunal now has jurisdiction for evictions.
Ensuring ongoing compliance with the Letting Agent Code of Practice is essential and LAS are delighted to be working in partnership to bring you a series of letting agent updates that are designed to take stock of where we are now, the lessons learned and what is still to come.
Our updates will provide you with information on:
- the new First-tier Tribunal procedures (time to pay, interest, service etc.)
- managing complaints/letting agent code compliance cases – examples and lessons learned
- employment matters – advertising for qualified staff, recovering training costs, employee breaches of the letting agent code of practice
There will also be a Mock Court – what really happens at the First-tier Tribunal.
Lawyers from TC Young, will be on hand to answer all your crucial questions and you will also have the opportunity to share your experiences with other lettings professionals.
