Applying to Become an Accredited Landlord

APPLY TO BECOME AN ACCREDITED LANDLORD OR LETTING AGENT TODAY

Landlord Accreditation Scotland is a voluntary scheme by which landlords can assure tenants that the tenancy arrangement that they have adheres to the high standards as outlined in the Scottish Core Standards for Accredited Landlords. It is also a means for quality landlords operating within these standards to receive the recognition and support they deserve.

The standards were designed to be reasonable and realistic; landlords who already carry out good management practices will find themselves well on the way to achieving them.

Landlord Accreditation Scotland will provide a support network and in time a range of business incentives for Accredited Landlords.

You can apply online to become an accredited Landlord or Letting Agent download a copy of the application form here or request an application form from the LAS office.

Landlord Accreditation Scotland aims to:

  • Promote best practice in the private rented sector
  • Assist landlords to achieve accreditation standards
  • Assist landlords and tenants to undertake their respective responsibilities to each other
  • Provide general tenancy advice
  • Provide information on changes in legislation

Compliance with the Scottish Core Standards for Accredited Landlords will ensure that:

  • Landlords, tenants and community members enjoy the benefit of good dwelling conditions, competent mangagement and considerate neighbourly behaviour
  • Misunderstandings and disputes are reduced
  • Where problems do occur they are promptly resolved

Your commitment to meeting the standards is a method of showing that your services are higher than the legal minimum requirements.
